that work with Invisalign

There are different types of providers that work with Invisalign. You will need to work with one of the following: a dental assistant, a lab technician, an Invisalign practitioner, an Invisalign provider, an Invisalign consultant or a cosmetic dentist.

A dental assistant is responsible for preparing your patient’s Invisalign aligners. An Invisalign practitioner is responsible for the actual placement of the aligners. An Invisalign consultant works with the dentist on what the goals are and how the aligners will affect those goals.

An Invisalign practitioner is a doctor of dentistry. This means Invisalign provider that they have at least three years of residency training in orthodontics and five years of experience in treating patients. A cosmetic dentist is a doctor of dental surgery who treats both medical and cosmetic issues. These dentists use the Invisalign system for cosmetic treatments only. The cosmetic dentist is trained in taking impressions and making crowns.

An Invisalign practitioner has a license to practice in your state. Before starting, he/she will have to go to Invisalign College. This is a two-day course that teaches the practitioner about the Invisalign treatment process and the material that you will be using.
